I am very excited to announce a new opportunity for girls in our Student Ministry. A good friend of mine (and recent new Katy Community Fellowship member) Sarah Leifeste is going to teach a worship dance class here at KCF. Below is a note from Sarah and a little about who she is. For any girl interested please take advantage of these free lessons and the opportunity to be part of Student Ministry Sunday worship on May 21st.

About the Dance Class:
This opportunity is designed for Junior High and High School girls to learn and express the basics of worship style dance in an environment that promotes honor, excellence, and stewardship. Girls will be taught dance basics while also learning the biblical foundations of worship and dance as an expression of praise to God! Students will minister a dance on May 21 as part of the Student Ministries Service. NO prior experience is required!
REHEARSALS:
Wednesdays 5:30-6:30 (before youth service)
Feb. 8- April 26
Leading up to Student Ministry Sunday there will be extra practices Saturdays 10:00am-12:00pm, May 6, 13, 20.
** NO practice:
March 1. Ash Wednesday or March 15 Spring Break
**** Students must attend all rehearsals (unless prior notice is given/emergency situation arises), must be on time to rehearsals, and must abide by the dress code at all times. Failure to do so, may result in being dismissed from the ministry date****
DRESS CODE:
For rehearsals: Students should wear jazz, yoga, or sweat pants/capris that are below the knee and shirts that avoid revealing chest or midriff areas. Shirts should have some sleeve (short or long is fine). All attire should be loose and modest.
For the ministry Date: Families will need to provide a coordinated outfit for the ministry date. Details will be given closer to the time.

About Sarah:
Sarah Leifeste has been teaching dance for the past 6 years and has been involved with worship ministry for the past 3. She has ministered dance and flags at several conferences and worship gatherings throughout the Houston area and founded a dance ministry at her former church. She is also the founder, owner, and director of SHINE Music and Dance, a mobile company which provides classes for preschool- junior high students with and without special needs in the Katy and West Houston Area. Her passion is to see dance inspire deeper levels of worship and praise and to provide opportunities for any and everyone to express love for Jesus Christ in this unique way!
